The word was first introduced by Austrian psychiatrist Alfred Adler in his famous book, The Case of Miss R. with the description of R as “the basic model of human behavior patterns”. It can also be defined as personal preferences and a set of values that people adopt for their own benefit or for the advantage of others. This concept of Lifestyle has several meanings, which are discussed below.
It may be considered as a psychological stance or attitude toward a specific person, place, or situation, which suggests the ways and means to attain an objective. In the field of individual psychology, the definition of a life style involves three general elements: emotional, physiological, and behavioral. These three aspects are interrelated and each affects the other in varying proportions. These influences can be considered as personal tastes, beliefs, objectives, and the like.
A healthy lifestyle is essential to acquire good health, happiness, energy, and quality of life. Healthy lifestyles may be categorized into two major types: one that promote total physical and mental well-being, and the other that focuses on spiritual aspects and emotional well-being. The word lifestyle in this context simply refers to the way of living.

It simply means being yourself and doing it as naturally as possible.
